Week 4: Collaboration

This week we were asked to collaborate with other peers on the course.

To do this we first needed to post a single sentence or image to the forum, to see who wanted to work with each other.

Long exposure – How it can enhance an environment

I teamed up with Jasmine and Matthew.

Our work explored the abstract relationship between light and refraction encompassing a “kaleidoscope of colours”. Drawing influence from colour theory, in particular, the theory of analogous colours and the psychological effects and feelings of colours the outcomes evoke an emotional response.

Using a multitude of refractive surfaces, ranging from crystal lamps to kaleidoscope glasses, we created a different set of scenarios where refracted light was emitted onto a variety of reflective textural surfaces to create a series of different coloured results. Our main question from this is what emotional response does this invoke as we venture through our kaleidoscope spectrum?
